Stende pristatomos kelios Europos Sajungos programos ITTE srityje. / The Stand provides information on EU activities and cofunding possibilities in ITCE sector.
The EU framework programme for Research and Technological Development is a major tool of supporting the creation of the European Research Area (ERA). The aim is to achieve a better European Integration in general from EU countries and especially New Access States. The budget for funding EU research projects in the IT field will be 3600 Million Euros for the next 3 years (6th framework programme).
The field of Information Society Technologies (IST) is one of the main thematic priorities of the FP6 programme. IST activities are intended to stimulate the development of technologies and applications in Europe. The European Commission stand will present some documents on Key Action II projects, eWork 2002 and other general information on EU activities.
The European Union has been a forerunner in the fight against illegal and harmful content since 1996. On 22 March 2002 the Commission proposed a European Parliament and Council decision for eSafe - the follow-up to the Safer Internet Action Plan. The eSafe programme aims to create a safer environment for Internet users, particularly minors, by funding practical measures to deal with illegal and harmful content.
IDA (Interchange of Data between Administrations)
IDA was set up initially in 1995 to facilitate the development of trans-European networks for electronic Exchange of data between European administrations, in support of Community policies. IDA II will build on the success of the original programme.
The new phase of the programme is based on a legal framework that enables IDA to react quickly to changing political priorities and that is flexible enough to follow the fast-evolving market.
The Stand also provides information on IST project TELEBALT Teleworking as a Tool for Information Technologies Programme Promotion To Baltic States.
